In collaboration with immersive media filmmakers Trevor Snapp, Sam Wolson, and technologist Ben Kreimer, developed modular volumetric capture techniques and workflows to support field based capture of volumetric video using multiple depth camera nodes. The project was supported by Journalism 360, a partnership of the Google News Initiative, Knight Foundation and Online News Association.
The goal of the project was to create a modular and open way to bring volumetric capture off of expensive soundstages and out into the real world.
Prototypes developed were tested in the field in Sudan and Kenya.
