Paper Tree: Origami AR

Adobe was looking to demonstrate the power of geospatial augmented reality for small retailers and local communities. We joined forces with Paper Tree, a multigenerational origami shop in Japantown San Francisco, to bring the artistry of origami to life across the Buchanan Mall Plaza. We tapped award winning agency Rock Paper Reality to execute.

Adobe Substance was used to capture textures from actual origami paper sold in store, as well as 3D photogrammetry captures of the world class origami on display. Paper cranes fly throughout the plaza and assemble into a virtual Peace Sphere by artist Linda Mihara.

As Adobe’s producer, I established the project and managed the partnerships throughout creative production. Took point for Adobe on contracts, marketing and provided guidance during creative and UX meetings.
